This week I hosted a 90 minute session for my mentees on capital raising.
We discussed the key decisions that founders need to make when raising capital and how to identify and engage with the right investors for their venture.
We also worked through topics including:
- Bootstrapping vs funding: when is the right time to “switch”?
- Stages of funding
- Planning ahead - how many rounds is too many and should future rounds be planned/considered?
- The ideal runway that new capital should provide a venture
- How side-hustles, part-time jobs and second accelerators are perceived by investors
We covered a lot of ground and today the audio that includes FAQs will be released on the Founder To Founder Podcast
. In the meantime, the resources I referred to during the session are listed below.
The feedback I received from the session was positive and I hope it helps you too.
Have a great week ahead!
